“Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist” investigates the Last Supper by looking at it through Jewish eyes, the Bible and ancient Judaism. Author Dr. Brant Pitre answers questions such as: What was the Passover like at the time of Jesus? What were the Jewish hopes for the Messiah? What was Jesus’ purpose in instituting the Eucharist during the feast of Passover? And, most important of all, what did Jesus mean when He said, “This is my body… This is my blood”?

Where: St. Patrick Church of Merna: Mondays from 4:30-5:30pm, beginning Monday, January 13th (January: 13, 20, 27, February 3, 10, 17, 24)

St. Mary Church in Downs: Wednesdays from 6-7pm (after the 5:30pm Mass), beginning Wednesday, January 15th (January 15, 21, 28, February 5, 12, 19, 26)
