Eucharistic Adoration

Eucharistic Adoration is an opportunity to pray in the true presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. The Sacred Host is held within a monstrance, which means “to show.” Adoration draws us into deeper relationship, where we are face to face with God Himself. “The Church knows that the Lord comes even now in His Eucharist and that He is there in our midst. However, His presence is veiled.” (CCC 1404

“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.” (1 Pet 1:8)

In Adoration, the kingdom of heaven breaks in to our world. Emmanuel, God-with-us, dwells in our midst. This time can be spent in various ways. Oftentimes, the simpler the better. Silence and stillness with Our Lord are preferred to filling the time and our minds with constant reading or going from devotion to devotion. He simply wants to be with us, gazing upon us in love as we gaze back at Him.
