The Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic men’s organization in the world. It was founded in 1882 by the Venerable Fr. Michael J. McGivney to care for widows and their children in his parish. The order has since blossomed into an organization that has become known as the “right arm the Church” because of its support of the Church through charity, family, right to life, and community activities.

Any Catholic man 18 years or older who practices the Catholic faith may join the Knights.

To join the council that meets at St. Patrick Church of Merna, contact Kurt Gibson at (309) 530-0915 or gibson.kurtj@gmail.com. For more information, visit their website at www.kofc15172.org.
