The Confirmation Preparation program is a two year program, typically completed during 7th and 8th grade. Children are confirmed at the end of the second year of study.
We use the Dynamic Catholic’s Decision Point curriculum. It engages young Catholics in meaningful conversations with their small group about the genius of Catholicism. It teaches and inspires teens to respond to God’s grace, and it encourages them to truly consider if Confirmation is what they desire.
The curriculum is engaging, easily accessible and fast-paced.
Sacraments and Time for Prayer
In typical (non-Covid) years, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered during class time at least twice per year. Also, a class period is spent learning about and attending Eucharistic Adoration.
Being of service to others is an integral part of living a Christian life. Service hours in the community and parish are required over the course of the 2-year Confirmation Preparation program. The service requirement is currently suspended in this time of social distancing for the health and safety of the students.
2020-2021 School Year
For the safety of all students, volunteers and staff, we have decided to offer Confirmation Preparation classes virtually using video conferencing software. We will not be meeting in-person.
Classes will be held 2-3 times per month on Wednesday evenings beginning in September. A class schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
7th grade class will be 6:00-7:15pm on Wednesdays
8th grade class will be 7:30-8:45pm on Wednesdays
The fee is $75 for this year. Second-year students (typically 8th graders) will also be charged a $25 Sacrament preparation fee to cover the cost of the Confirmation retreat, robes for Confirmation Mass, and other Confirmation administrative expenses.
