Catholic Enrichment

Cursillo
Cursillo is a word with Spanish origin that stands for ‘short course in Christianity.’ The Cursillo movement within the church is primarily a lay movement where people spend a weekend listening to various speakers as they share their experiences of a life with Christ. Cursillo is sponsored by the Catholic church, but is open to Christians of all denominations.

Faith In Action
Faith In Action is an ecumenical ministry involving volunteers of all ages from many congregations in the Twin Cities. We assist seniors age 60+ with a variety of activities of daily life that help them to remain independent in their own homes. Volunteers provide rides to medical appointments, grocery shopping assistance, friendly in-home visiting and reassurance phone calls, and light home maintenance. Volunteer orientations are held monthly and volunteers can choose when and how they want to serve. To be a care receiver, an individual must be 60 or older and live in Bloomington –Normal. Before services can be initiated, a home visit is completed by a Faith in Action Parish nurse. There are no charges for our services, but donations are gratefully welcomed.
